Painting can open up your creativity - yet making a great piece of art needs a combination of inspiration and technique. To make a faithful representation of what you are imagining, you will want to develop expertise in techniques of working with materials and paints.
The Old Masters learned by copying the paintings and techniques of the Masters that went before. I encourage my students to choose a painting they would like to hang on their wall, and we work together, side-by-side, to recreate that painting, life-size, on new canvases. |  |

We can work and learn in SOMA Studios in San Francisco, a thriving artist community. Or I can come to your home, or you to mine, where I also have a small studio. After the work is done, you will have your own masterwork to grace your home.
I also advise on special projects, materials and techniques. Perhaps you have an idea of something you want to create, but are struggling with issues of composition, materials selection or brushwork, or you have run into difficulties - come to me and I can help. |
